Land Acquisition Manager - Italy
About the Position
As we continue to expand in Italy, we are seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to lead the identification and securing of prime locations for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects. In this role, you will be instrumental in sourcing new opportunities, negotiating agreements, and ensuring a seamless land acquisition process that aligns with our project goals and regulatory requirements.
With 600 MW of solar projects in development and a strong focus on greenfield expansion, this is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on Italy’s renewable energy landscape. You will work 100% remotely, with frequent travel across Central and Northern Italy and occasional visits to Denmark.
As part of our growing and collaborative team, you will work alongside four colleagues—three based in Denmark and one in Sicily, Italy—and report directly to the Head of Development Italy. You will also collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across development, engineering, and M&A to bring high-potential projects to life.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate potential sites for utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.
- Develop and generate leads through cold calls, online ads, industry contacts, and partnerships.
- Negotiate and finalize land lease and purchase agreements with landowners and stakeholders.
- Conduct due diligence, including title searches, environmental assessments, and regulatory checks.
- Collaborate with internal teams (Development, Engineering, and M&A) to assess site feasibility.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring efficient land acquisition and compliance.
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, local authorities, and community stakeholders to facilitate smooth project development.
About You
- 3+ years of experience in land acquisition, project origination, or early-stage solar development.
- Strong understanding of the solar industry, permitting processes, and land regulations.
- Proven negotiation and sales skills with the ability to close agreements effectively.
- Fluent in Italian and proficient in English (both written and spoken).
- Willingness to travel frequently across Italy and occasionally to Denmark.
- It’s a plus if you have an existing portfolio of land leads and contacts, or experience in the agricultural sector (e.g., sales of machinery, crop protection products).
